Once a public convenience, now a lovely holiday cottage, Beach Cottage has appeared in The Times

Bless my cotton socks, Beach Cottage is in the news

If I may misquote those paragons of early 1980s pop, The Teardrop Explodes, "Bless my cotton socks, Beach Cottage is in the news". Yes, that's right Beach Cottage is in the popular press; In The Times, no less. And if that wasn't enough, Beach Cottage then featured in the world renowned Lowestoft Journal.

Beach Cottage is one of the top 50 unusual holiday cottages to stay in - and that must be true, it says so in The Times!

Beach Cottage, why so unusual?

Why has The Times awarded Beach Cottage with being in the top 50 unusual places to stay, you may well be asking. Well, in a former life Beach Cottage served for several years as a Public Convenience. Yes indeed - Beach Cottage was originally designed as a loo.

You don't need to worry about that though - this loo with a view no longer resembles a public toilet. In fact, Beach Cottage has been splendidly converted to this holiday cottage sleeping 2 people.

Located on the Suffolk coast, in Pakefield, this former loo is now perfect for a romantic getaway.

In the Lowestoft Journal

After being featured in The Times, Beach Cottage got a full page spread in the Lowestoft Journal. The photo above shows two of the owners - Chris Read and David Challis - who carried out the work on transforming Beach Cottage from a disused toilet to a cottage of distinction.
