It's coming to the end of summer, but you can still Enjoy Lowestoft
Summer might be coming to an end, but while the sun is out in sunny Lowestoft, there is still time to make the most of this lovely stretch of coast. The 'South Beach' has plenty of space, with lifeguards in two separate areas - just north of the Claremont Pier, and just south too; if you're worried about swimming in the sea, take to the water between the lifeguard's flags for ultimate security.You may think the sea is cold, but by the end of June the sea is warming up a treat - and by the end of August, it is positively balmy!
The South Beach in Lowestoft is a lovely place to spend a summers' day
The southern side of the Claremont Pier is where you'll find the vast expanse of sandy beaches; the main beaches are dog free from May - September. For those who want to take a dog on the beach, the coastline in Pakefield is pet friendly all year round.
It might be that you don't fancy a swim, or a play on the sand. Don't let that put you off a Lowestoft holiday. You can always stroll along the promenade which runs the length of the beach.

If you're after a holiday cottage within walking distance of Lowestoft's beach, you've got Coastline Cottage, in Pakefield; Coastline Cottage is dog friendly, so those who want to walk along Pakefield's coast with their pet may well be interested. Also well worth a look, is The Hollies, a mile down the road, in Kessingland.
